How to Grow Geraniums
I love geraniums, they are so beautiful and come in so many colors. The best part about them is how hardy and low maintenance they are. As long as they have enough sun and water, geraniums will flower from late spring into fall.
Choosing a plant - Any geranium from your local nursery will be great for your garden. Some hanging baskets also feature them.
Watering - Water often, they don't like to be too dry especially when they are flowering.
Sun - They love full sun, and generally flower when given 6-12hrs of sunlight.
Soil - Geraniums like to be well-drained humid soil.
Wintering - If you live in the northern hemisphere is that they can also be grown inside over the winter. Simply bring them inside before the first frost of the season, they will continue to grow and maybe even bloom during the winter inside. If they are in a hanging basket, simply replant the geraniums in a smaller planter for indoor. Carefully separate and rinse the roots prior to replanting.
Happy growing!
