Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake Recipe
serves 4-6 people total baking time: 40 mins
cake batter ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cups sour cream
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 10 tbsp butter, melted and cooled
cinnamon, sugar, and chocolate layer ingredients
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups chocolate chips
instructions
- preheat oven to 350 degree
- grease and line a 9x12 pan with butter and parchment paper
- in a mixer, add all dry ingredients, mix on low for 1 minute until combined
- add remaining wet ingredients, slowly adding butter last, mix on low-medium for 2 minutes
- fill the pan with half the batter, spread evenly
- add a layer of the cinnamon-sugar mix, layer with chocolate chips
- add the rest of the batter in six sections, spread layer evenly
- sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top and add the rest of your chocolate chips
- bake for 35-40 minutes
- test whether it's done by using inserting a toothpick into the center, if it pulls out clean it's done
- let the cake rest for 10 minutes
- serve with your favorite coffee or tea
- best stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days
