The Easiest Halloween Mummy Chocolate Cupcakes
Halloween is a perfect time to bake some delicious chocolate cupcakes. Halloween Mummy's are cute and super easy to make! Give this quick recipe a try!
Halloween 'Mummy' Chocolate Cupcakes
total baking time: 18-20 mins 12 cupcakes
cupcake icing: 10 mins
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/4 tsp ground coffee
- 12 cupcake liners
- Wilton 104 tip (flat slit piping tip)
- piping bag
- candy eyes
frosting ingredients
- 1/4 cup soften unsalted butter
- 1-2 cups/one pound powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2-3 tbsp milk or cream
directions
- preheat oven to 350 degrees
- line a muffin tray with cupcake liners, set aside
- in a medium bowl, sift together, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, set aside
- in a larger bowl or mixing bowl, on medium, beat together melted butter, and sugar until fluffy
- add eggs, vanilla, milk, mix well, add hot water and ground coffee
- add dry ingredients
- using a measuring cup, fill cupcake liners 3/4 full
- bake for 18-20 mins or until done, a toothpick should be clear after inserting in the middle
- let cool on a rack a
frosting directions
- add soften butter into your stand mixer or bowl
- beat butter on medium to high in a stand mixer for 3 minutes until fluffy
- just before the end of 3 minutes, add vanilla, add milk, keep beating
- reduce to medium, pour in one cup of sugar at a time
- if the frosting is still too stiff add 1 tbsp of milk at a time and beat until fully incorporated
- spread on the cupcakes or using Wilton 104 pipe lines on top of cupcakes
- leave a small empty space in the middle for where the eyes will go
- add a little dot of buttercream, stick on the eyes
- stand back and admire your cute Mummy cupcakes!
