Oatmeal is a great way to start your morning, it's known to be able to lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar. It's also full of vitamins and minerals. Oatmeal is great for your digestion and helps to control your weight. Plain oatmeal can be a bit boring, that's why I like to try different flavored oatmeal. Coconut oatmeal is one of my favorite ways to have oatmeal. Fresh and flavourful, coconut oatmeal is a great way to start your morning, give this quick recipe a try.
Creamy Coconut Oatmealserves: 2 total cooking time: 25 mins
ingredients
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 400ml can of coconut milk
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp shredded coconut
directions
- in a small pot, add coconut milk
- stir in oatmeal, bring to a boil
- turn down and simmer on medium/low
- cook until done depending on the type of oatmeal you're using about 10-20mins
- stir often until smooth
- serve with shredded coconut and brown sugar
