Japanese Chicken Yakisoba Noodles Stir-Fry - Just Like Take-out
Soba and udon noodles are staples in Japanese cuisine. The soba noodles differ from udon because it's thinner but both are made of wheat. Served in soup or stir-fry, soba noodles make some really delicious comfort dishes. Chicken yakisoba is one of my favorite dishes to order when dining out, a stir-fry made up of meat, noodles and veggies, so yummy! I couldn't resist making it at home. Give this quick and easy Chicken yakisoba noodle dish a try, it makes a great lunch or dinner.
Chicken Yakisoba Noodle Stir-fry
serves 2-3 total cooking time: 30 mins
ingredients
- 3 pack of soba noodles
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ginger
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 small onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 4 chicken thighs, diced into cubes
directions
- prepare soba noodles, bring a small pot to boil
- add noodles, cook for 3-4 minutes and strain, set aside
- prepare sauce, in small bowl, add soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, ginger and garlic, mixed well
- preheat wok on medium high, add 1 tbsp of cooking oil
- add chicken, 1 clove of minced garlic, and cook until done about 8-10 minutes
- remove and set chicken aside
- turn wok down to medium, add more cooking oil if needed, add carrots and onions, cook down about 5-6 minutes
- return chicken and noodles, add sauce and combine well, about 6 minutes
- garnish with sesame seed
- serve warm
- enjoy!
