1 small onion, thinly sliced
-
1 tbsp honey

Instructions

Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 330°F (or set your slow cooker to high). Glaze brisket with BBQ sauce and rub in Cajun spice evenly over all sides. Season lightly with salt and pepper. -
Sear the Brisket
In a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until lightly browned, about 2–3 minutes per side. -
Cook the Aromatics
Add sliced onions to the pot and sauté until translucent, about 3–4 minutes. -
Build the Broth
Carefully pour in the boiling water. Stir in beef bouillon. Drizzle honey directly over the brisket. -
Slow Cook to Tenderness
Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Bake in the oven for 4–5 hours, or until brisket is fork-tender. Alternatively, cook on high in a slow cooker for 6–7 hours. When ready to serve, remove portion from pot, use a fork and knife, and pull apart meat for an easy pulled brisket sandwich or serve brisket pieces next to mashed potatoes, drizzle pot juices for gravy.
Tips
