How to Make Your Pothos Plants Fuller and More Lush - Happier Houseplants

Depending on your plant, some tropical plants want a more humid environment. This can be difficult when you live in a cooler dryer environment, like Canada. I find that many of my houseplants aren't as lively, full, and luscious in the winter months. This is naturally due to fewer daylight hours but also because the environment is much dryer. In addition, electric heaters can also dry out the air, making it even harder for your houseplants to thrive.

The best thing you can do for your plants is to add a humidifier to the room. Place your humidifier close to plants, I have my humidifier in between my prayer plant and the wandering heart plant. They sit on a tall shelf, with begonias and pothos plants, and the entire plant gang has been extremely happy with the new humidifier. The plants are fuller and much greener. Plants take in air and moisture through their leaves, the moist air helps them retain their plumpness, helping to produce additional growth. With a humidifier, the plant can replenish the moisture in its leaves just like when it rains in nature.

Pothos like a wet sunny environment. Try growing your pothos in water. Cuttings placed in water will grow roots. Simply top off the vase whenever the water seems to be getting lower.

If you're growing your pothos in soil, make sure to keep the soil moist. Humidifier also helps the soil retain its moisture longer, most plants generally like damper soil with a short dry period in between.

Try adding a humidifier to your plant shelf.

Happy planting!
