Easy Cranberry Sauce: A Sweet-Tart Side That Goes With Everything

best and easiest cranberry sauce recipe

With the holidays just around the corner, cranberry sauce is a must-have in my kitchen. This recipe is quick, delicious, and versatile enough to pair with everything from turkey to roast beef sandwiches. Whether you’re prepping for a big family dinner or looking for a way to level up your leftovers, this sauce has got you covered!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp allspice

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan, add all the ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat.

2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries start to pop and the sauce thickens.

3. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with roast beef or turkey!

Why This Cranberry Sauce is a Holiday Hero

This cranberry sauce strikes the perfect balance between sweet and tart, making it an amazing side for your Thanksgiving turkey. But don’t stop there—it’s also fantastic on a roast beef sandwich, adding a burst of flavor that cuts through the richness of the meat. You can even use it as a topping for a holiday charcuterie board, spread on crusty bread with brie, or added to yogurt for a quick snack.

Make a batch, and you’ll find it adds that little extra something to just about any dish!

Tip for Freezing

Double or triple the recipe to make a larger batch for quick use. Cool and divide into smaller portions using a silicone cube tray. When cubes are frozen, use parchment paper to wrap individual cubes, and store in an airtight zip-lock for later use. When ready to use, simply warm up a cube or two in the microwave or saucepan.

Happy Holiday Season!
