Recipe: "Must-Try" Delicious Beef Wonton Soup
I love the sweet succulent flavor of warm dumplings. Wontons are one of my favorite dumplings, I always thought they would be hard to make especially with having to make the dumpling and a soup. So here's my super simple take on the classic wonton soup.
This home-cooked soup is so quick and delicious it's great for any occasion.
Try this quick and delicious soup! I used Healthy Nibbles and Bit's Tofu Wonton Yellow Curry recipe to help me with how to wrap the dumplings. I love the easy photo tutorial, I'll make sure to take some pics for you guys next time I make them.

Beef Wonton Soup
Serves 4 Actual Cooking Time: 30 Mins Total Cooking Time: 1 hr
soup ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 sweet onion diced
- 1 medium carrot diced
- 1 celery diced
- 500ml chicken broth
- salt and pepper to taste
- green onions for garnish
- wonton wrappers
- water
- 1/4lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 clove garlic grated
- 2 tbsp Korean bbq sauce or 1 tsp of each; brown sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 1/4 carrots shredded
- 1/4 red cabbage shredded
- marinate ground beef, cover, and let sit in the fridge for 30 minutes
- add carrots and cabbage to the mixture
- set up wonton dumpling making station, line up your items; meat mixture, wonton wrappers, small water dish, small spoon, paper towel/towel to dry fingers
- follow the diagram to wrap wontons above (1)
- bring a medium to boil, add wontons, cook them in two or more batches, the wonton will rise to the top when cooked
- remove wontons
- preheat a small pot on medium/high, add olive oil
- saute onion, carrots, and celery until cooked down a little bit
- add chicken broth
- bring to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes
- add salt and pepper to taste
- in a bowl, combine dumpling and soup, garnish with green onions
