Perfect 10 Min Oven-baked 'Ikea' Marvelous Swedish Meatballs
We miss our trips to Ikea. Browsing the aisles and discovering the fun home decor items we never thought we needed but now can't live without. It's tough with social distancing and the COVID-19 quarantine, unable to go out we can make Ikea's famous Swedish Meatballs at home with this quick and easy recipe. Made with soft ground veal, these meatballs have the same bounce that's signature to Ikea's Swedish Meatballs. Serve them with your favorite marinara sauce for spaghetti and meatballs or add them to a hotdog bun, smothered in marinara and grated cheese for the most delicious marinara meatballs subs. Made in just 10 minutes, these Swedish meatballs are a family favorite. Give this super easy recipe a try!
Perfect 'Ikea' Marvelous Swedish Meatballs
total cooking time: 10 mins serves 2-3
ingredients- 650g lean ground veal
- 1 slice white bread, finely crumbled
- 4 tbsp whole milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 shallots, minced
- 2 tsp onion salt
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- preheat oven to broil on high
- line a baking tray with aluminum foil
- in a small bowl, crumble your slice of bread into small tiny pieces, almost a fine crumble
- add milk to the bowl and leave the bread crumbs to absorb about 3 minutes
- in a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients
- using a tbsp spoon, make round balls with the ground veal mixture
- lay them 2 inches apart on the baking tray
- broil meatballs for 5 minutes on each side, turn halfway through for even cooking
- serve with your favorite marinara sauce and pasta
- freeze by placing them in a ziplock bag - keeps well for 1-2 months frozen
