How to Grow and Propagate Jade Plant
The Jade plant has flat coin-like leaves, they are a part of the succulent family. This means they are hardy and low maintenance, making them great houseplants. The jade plant prefers bright light, thrives best in loose moist soil, and tight pots. Let the soil dry well before thoroughly watering, water every 2-3 months in winter when the plant is dormant.
Ensure that the leaves on the lower part of the plant don't get too moist as they can be prone to rotting, simply remove lower branches and propagate by placing them a few nodes down into dry soil. They will start growing roots within a few weeks, place them by a warm sunny window, keep the soil moist and watch the little babies grow!
To promote flowering allow the plant to become root bound, lessen sunlight and water. The more established jade plant often has little white flowers during its dormant winter.
Happy growing!
