Beef and Broccoli Recipe

Beef and Broccoli Recipe

total cooking time: 30 mins serves: 3-4

ingredients

  • 1 flank steak, cut thinly
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch, divided
  • 2 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 3-4 bowl jasmine rice

directions

  1. cook rice per direction, keep warm, set aside
  2. in a bowl toss mix 2 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tsp grated ginger, 2 tbsp water, coat steak slices
  3. in a small bowl mix together, 1/3 cup soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 2 tbsp brown sugar and 1/2 cup water, set sauce aside
  4. using a wok, on medium/high heat, add sesame oil and 1 tbsp grated ginger
  5. add beef, cook until done, set aside
  6. add onion, cook until almost soft, add broccoli, continue to cook until soft
  7. return beef, add sauce, incorporate well, let cook for 5 minutes
  8. serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds
