Recipe: "Must-Try" Delicious 'Summer' Cherry & Watermelon Steak Salad
It's finally summer! Incorporating fruits into a salad is a great way to make it more colorful and delicious. Here's my simple and easy recipe for a delicious 'Cherry and Watermelon Steak Salad', give it a try!
"Summer" Cherry Watermelon Steak Salad
Serves 2 Total Time: 1hr 15mins
flank steak ingredients
- 1lb flank steak
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- pinch salt and pepper
- 4 cup spring mix
- 1/4 sweet onion chopped
- 1/4 carrot grated
- 1/2 tomato chopped
- 1/3 cucumber chopped
- 1/2 cup watermelon diced
- 2/3 cherry, cut in half and pitted
- 3 tsp balsamic vinaigrette/glaze
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- in a bowl combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic and ginger
- add steak and let marinate for at least 30 minutes
- let sit for 10 mins in room temperature before cooking
- preheat oven to 400 degree
- preheat a cast iron grill pan on medium/high
- grease pan with 1 tbsp of olive oil
- add steak, let grill for a few minutes on each side to gain grill marks
- place in oven for 20 mins for medium well, and 25 for well done
- remove, let cool and slice against the grain
- in a mixing bowl, toss the together all the salad ingredients, layer tall and add steak
- top salad with steak and drizzle with balsamic glaze
