Recipe: "Must-Try" Delicious Vietnamese Lemon Steak Salad
The rich aroma of lemongrass always reminds me of Vietnam, sandy beaches, and my mom's home cooking. So here's a twist on a favorite, try my original 'Lemon Steak Salad' recipe!
Lemon Steak Salad
Serves 2 Total Cooking Time: 45 mins
steak ingredients
- 1 top sirloin steak
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 lemongrass, crushed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1tbsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 juiced lemon
- 1 small garlic
- 1 small slice of ginger
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette or glazed
- 1 tsp hoisin sauce
- pinch of salt and pepper
salad ingredients
- 4 cups spring mix
- 1/2 small carrot shredded
- 1 tomato diced
- 1/2 cucumber cut long thin sticks 2 inches long
- 1 avocado sliced thin
- 2 lemon slices for garnish
steak directions
- combine ingredients and marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes but it will be most flavorful overnight
- preheat oven to 400 degree
- heat a skillet grill on medium/high
- add olive oil to the pan
- place steak on the skillet, grill for a few minutes to gain grill marks
- flip and grill for a few minutes
- place into the oven for 20 minutes for medium-well, and 25 minutes for well done
- remove and slice against the grain
vinaigrette directions
9. in a small blender, add all salad dressing ingredients, blend well
combine salad
10. combine ingredients and toss in a mixing bowl, stack salad then top with slices of steak and drizzle with lemon vinaigrette
