Holiday Chocolate Crinkle Cookies


The holiday season is all about delicious home-baked goodies, these soft and chocolatey cookies are the most popular cookies in our cafe. They are chewy and delicious cookies are really easy to make. These 'Chocolate Crinkle' cookies are perfect for a treat or cookie exchange. Give this recipe a try!


Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

yield 20-22 cookies



ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup mild-flavor oil - cooking oil
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, for coating the cookies
directions
  1. in a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, whisk until well combined, set aside
  2. in a bowl of a stand mixer, add the granulated sugar and oil, beat on medium-high for 2 minutes until fluffy, add eggs and vanilla extract, continue beating until smooth
  3. gradually add flour mixture on medium-low until well combined
  4. using a large piece of plastic wrap, empty dough into the center, fold the plastic wrap over to cover the dough, using the plastic wrap, gently guide the dough into the center, fold the sides of the wrap in and cover the rectangular dough completely
  5. chill the dough in the fridge for 2 to 24 hours
  6. once ready to bake, add 1 cup of powdered sugar in a bowl
  7. preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease a baking sheet
  8. take dough in palm and roll into a 1-inch ball, roll the cookies in the powdered sugar and place them 2 inches apart from each other on the baking sheet
  9. bake for 10 minutes, remove and leave on baking tray for 3 minutes, remove and let cool on a baking rack
  10. serve immediately, or keep in an air-tight container for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months
